Product Overview: High-Reactivity Quick Lime

Quick Lime (Calcium Oxide, CaO) is an inorganic chemical compound produced by the thermal decomposition (calcination) of high-grade limestone in state-of-the-art vertical shaft kilns.

Known for its high reactivity, high available lime content (CaO ≥ 85–90%), and low slaking time, Sakthima Quick Lime is widely used as a flux in steel making, pH neutralizer in water treatment, and chemical reactant in AAC block manufacturing.

Available CaO ≥ 85% High Reactivity Lump & Powder Forms Strict Thermal Calcination
Product Overview: High-Reactivity Quick Lime

Key Benefits

Efficient Steel Fluxing

Acts as a basic flux to remove phosphorus, silica, and sulphur impurities during basic oxygen and electric arc steelmaking.

Essential for AAC Blocks

Reacts vigorously with aluminium powder to generate hydrogen aeration and optimal thermal insulation in lightweight concrete blocks.

Water & Effluent Treatment

Rapidly neutralizes acidic industrial wastewater, precipitates heavy metals, and aids in biological sludge conditioning.

Paper Pulp Causticizing

Enables efficient causticizing of green liquor in kraft paper mills for chemical recovery loops.

Soil Stabilization

Reacts with clay soils in highway and sub-base construction, drying waterlogged ground and increasing load-bearing capacity.

Every batch tested for EN 459 reactivity standards ensuring rapid heat release and maximum yield.

Protected Moisture Packaging

Packed in hermetically sealed HDPE bags with heavy-duty liners to prevent premature hydration during transit.

Flexible Particle Sizing

Supplied in 10–50mm lumps, 0–5mm grit, and 200 Mesh pulverized powder.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our quicklime exhibits high reactivity, reaching 60°C within 2 to 3 minutes upon hydration in standard slaking tests.
Quick lime must be stored in a dry, covered, and moisture-free environment. Contact with moisture or open air initiates hydration and turns it into hydrated lime with significant heat release.
Yes, our AAC block grade quicklime is widely preferred by leading AAC block manufacturers for its consistent slaking profile and high active CaO content.
